which inspired “Busuanga Babies”. According to the article, Muro-ami was banned (in the Philippines) in 1986 after a dusty graveyard with skeletons (mostly of children) was discovered in Panlaitan Island, Busuanga . Bodies are said to be those of muro-ami victims who were unable to escape the nets.
